The Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA), led by H.E. Dr. Khaled Mohammed Al-Zamel, Chairman of the Board, participated in the Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR-25), organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from 31 August to 3 September 2025.

H.E. Dr. Al-Zamel headed the delegation of the State of Kuwait, where he took part in the high-level roundtable of heads of telecommunication regulatory authorities. He and the accompanying delegation also attended the official opening ceremony of the symposium.

On the sidelines of the symposium, H.E. the Chairman held a bilateral meeting with H.E. Eng. Ahmed Abdullah Al-Muslimani, President of the Communications Regulatory Authority of the State of Qatar. The meeting discussed ways to enhance frameworks of cooperation between the two brotherly countries in the field of telecommunications regulation. The meeting also reaffirmed Kuwait’s support for Qatar’s hosting of the Plenipotentiary Conference (PP-26), scheduled to be held in the fourth quarter of 2026.
