Kuwait, represented by the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA), participated in an international session at ITU GSR‑26 on the role of technology in protecting people during emergencies.
During the session, Kuwait highlighted its Public Warning System, which uses cellular broadcast technology to send emergency alerts directly to mobile phones across the country.
The system was implemented in less than 10 days, making it one of the fastest deployments globally.
This achievement reflects strong cooperation between government entities, telecom operators, and global technology companies, ensuring alerts reach the public quickly and reliably.
Kuwait reaffirmed that fast and dependable alerts play a vital role in protecting lives during emergencies.
