The State of Kuwait is participating in the first Global Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence Governance, along with its accompanying events and meetings, hosted in Geneva, Switzerland, from 6 to 10 July.
According to a statement issued by the Permanent Mission of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations in Geneva, a copy of which was received by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Tuesday, the Kuwaiti delegation will also take part in several side events, including the AI for Good Global Summit, the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum, as well as high-level sessions and specialized events addressing artificial intelligence governance, digital infrastructure, digital policy, and capacity building.
The statement added that the Kuwaiti delegation includes representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA), and the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT), reflecting Kuwait's commitment to coordinating national efforts among the relevant authorities responsible for AI governance and digital transformation.
It further noted that Kuwait's participation in this international forum underscores its commitment to strengthening international cooperation in the field of AI governance and enhancing its role in global efforts to shape the future of artificial intelligence, establish governance frameworks, and benefit from international best practices and experiences to build a secure and inclusive digital future that balances innovation with transparency and accountability in the use of AI and digital technologies.
The Kuwaiti delegation is headed by Abdullah Al-Qudairi, representing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The delegation also includes Abdulkarim Al-Fouzan and Souad Al-Nasafi from the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT), and Shouq Al-Wadaani, Waleed Al-Fadhala, and Ahmed Al-Nomas from the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA).
