The task force responsible for establishing the National Center for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management (Aman) held a coordination meeting with the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) as part of its efforts to follow up on the readiness of relevant government entities and enhance national integration in the field of emergency, crisis, and disaster management.
In a press statement issued on Wednesday, the team stated that CITRA presented during the meeting its approved procedures and plans to ensure the continuity of telecommunications and information technology services during emergencies and crises. The presentation also covered the risk management framework related to the telecommunications sector, business continuity plans, and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring the sustainability of digital services and technical infrastructure under various circumstances.
The meeting addressed mechanisms for coordination and cooperation among relevant entities, ways to enhance information exchange, and the utilization of modern technologies to support emergency, crisis, and disaster management efforts, contributing to improved national readiness and strengthening the ability to respond and recover from crises.
The meeting was attended by several officials and representatives from relevant entities, including Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Subscriber Services Sector at the Ministry of Communications, Bader Al-Kandari; Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry of Oil, Eng. Khaled Al-Deain; Director General of the National Cyber Security Center, Eng. Abeer Al-Awadhi; and representatives from the Central Agency for Information Technology. Discussions focused on areas of cooperation and institutional integration mechanisms to support the establishment of a comprehensive national emergency, crisis, and disaster management system.
Aman Team, affiliated with the Council of Ministers, is responsible for establishing a comprehensive national framework for emergency and disaster management, unifying national efforts, developing an integrated risk management framework, and enhancing the level of preparedness and response to crises.
